The city Health Department says diabetes is taking a growing toll on New Yorkers. A report released Tuesday says around half a million New Yorkers have been diagnosed with the disease, and another 200,000 have it but don't know it. The death rate from diabetes rose 75 percent between 1990 and 2003.

Why this Blog?
Shortly after my 12 year old nephew was diagnosed with Diabetes 1, I started this blog for he and his mother. There is so much to learn and so much to know and so many unanswered questions. My hope is that it provides a place for knowledge and healing. To your health nephew!
