Why this Blog?

Shortly after my 12 year old nephew was diagnosed with Diabetes 1, I started this blog for he and his mother. There is so much to learn and so much to know and so many unanswered questions. My hope is that it provides a place for knowledge and healing. To your health nephew!

Young children now eligible to receive FluMist (Daily Vidette)

A federal advisory panel said recently that children as young as two can now receive the nasal spray flu vaccine. Previously, FluMist was authorized for use only by healthy people between the ages of 5-years-old and 49-years-old. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, which made the recommendation, said the nasal spray flu vaccine is an option for children instead of the flu shot.
